Megan scores best World Cup finish yet

14 February 2012

Team Bath judo player Megan Fletcher achieved the highest World Cup finish of her career to date when she came seventh in Budapest at the weekend.

Despite a tough draw in the 70kg class, she beat players from Ukraine and Russia before going down to the eventual gold medallist Fei Chen from China. That put her in a repechage contest against Iljana Marzok, which the German won to take fifth.

Megan’s brother, Ben, is scheduled to contest his first senior World Cup in Prague later this month, after winning bronze at the World Junior Championships in South Africa in November.
