Pozzi named in World Indoor Champs team

21 February 2012

Sprint hurdler Andy Pozzi has been selected to represent the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team at next month’s World Indoor Championships.

Pozzi is coached by Malcolm Arnold, UK Athletics National Events Coach Hurdles,  and trains at the University of Bath.

The 19-year-old wins his first senior cap in the 60m hurdles at the championships, which take place in Istanbul from 9 to 11 March.

His section comes after he won his first national senior title at the Aviva UK Trials and Championships in Sheffield earlier this month.

He is joined in the GB team by two University of Bath alumni – Mathematics graduate James Brewer has been selected to run the 1500m, while French and Politics graduate Marilyn Okoro contests the 800m.
