Fixture: Team Bath Buccaneers v Staines
Date: Saturday 25 February 2012
Score: TBB 2-3 Staines
Venue: Sports Training Village, University of Bath
Team Bath got off to a slow start in this important fixture. Despite having good possession counter attacking by Staines led to them taking two quick goals early in the half.
Buccs regained some composure and started to exert more pressure as the half went on.
A good attack down the right started by some neat interplay by Pippa Barnes and Zoe Shipperely led to a cross from the right being coolly converted by Dani Black.
At the start of the second half Buccs pressed hard and were rewarded by a series of short corners.
In the breakdown from one of them Dani Black made a full length dive to tip the ball into the goal to make it 2-2. Buccs had the majority of play but were unable to make good chance in the circle.
In a counter attack two minutes before the end hesitancy in passing led to an interception by Staines who were able to convert the resulting chance to make the final score 3-2 and a disappointing end to the game.
