Pozzi named in World Indoor Champs team

Sprint hurdler Andy Pozzi has been selected to represent the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team at next month’s World Indoor Championships. Pozzi is coached by Malcolm Arnold, UK Athletics National Events Coach Hurdles,  and trains at the University of Bath. Chris helps England to epee team gold

University of Bath student Chris Hay helped England secure team epee gold at the Commonwealth Junior Fencing Championships in Jersey. England beat Canada 45-35 in the final of the team competition to take the gold. Chris, a Biology student at the University of Bath, featured in all of England’s matches and wrapped up his campaign with a 9-3 win over Canada’s Mathew Anderson, who had earlier won the gold medal of the individual epee competition....

Murray strikes gold in Budapest

University of Bath French and Politics student  Samantha Murray continued her impressive start to 2012 by winning the Hungarian Indoor Championships in Budapest at the weekend. And there was further good news for Great Britain with Beijing 2008 Olympic modern pentathlete and University of Bath alumni Katy Livingston taking bronze. Murray followed up her win at the final national selection competition in Bath last month by taking gold in Budapest, comfortably beating Lithuania’s world number...

GB rhythmic gymnasts’ case goes to appeal

Britain’s rhythmic gymnastics group say they are pleased their bid to secure nomination to compete at the London 2012 Olympic Games is going to be considered at an independent appeal. Sport Resolutions will consider the appeal on Wednesday 29 February. In the meantime the group continue to train at their University of Bath training base.
