Score > 4-0

Team Bath Buccaneers went down 4-0 to Cheltenham on Saturday in the opening match of their West Conference campaign. It was hardly the start Buccs were after, having missed out on promotion to the premier league at last season’s play-off tournament.
Whilst Buccs started the better side, they struggled to make anything from their early openings and the home side quickly gained control of the encounter.
They opened the scoring in the 15th minute when James Astley, finding himself unmarked in the circle, deflected well past Buccs keeper Tom Skinner. Alex Hay doubled Cheltenham’s lead eight minutes later, finishing a fine passing move from close range and then Will Pearce flicked home on the stroke of half time to leave the visitors with a mountain to climb.
Buccs were better in the second half, but when Hay scored his second in the 41st minute, the home side had a four goal cushion and the game was over as a contest. Buccs battled hard for a consolation goal but struggled to create any clear cut chances.
The visitors will have had no complaints at the outcome of the match, having been outplayed from start to finish. They will hope for a better display when they welcome Cardiff + UWIC to the STV on Sunday 23 September.
