Team Bath Buccaneers travelled down to Exeter to play the Isca 2nds.
From the start of the game Isca applied pressure and entered the circle within the first couple of minutes but the defence, held firm and a save from Kelly Bowden prevented Isca from scoring.
As the game went on it became really scrappy and stick tackles were flying in at all angles from Isca but Team Bath Buccaneers didn’t let this effect them and created transfers around the back, in the middle and also at the front.
Lara Williamson, Steph Baker and Irena Molloy created runs at the front, and Helen Earle, Jess Rickman held the middle well and created chances running from the depth of midfield.
Vicky Warner and Elianne Vos were also making runs and passes into Isca’s D creating chances.
First half came to a close and after a positive half time chat we wanted to come out and score a quick goal. However, Isca came out strong and continued to put Team Bath Buccaneers under pressure.
Isca created a chance when Wendy Britten had left her player Isca played a long ball and this created a one on one opportunity with Kelly Bowden, but Kelly Bowden missed timed her save with her stick and Isca hit the post, this resulted in Kelly Bowden getting a green card.
As the second half continued Isca continued to press for a goal and so did TBB.
The deadlock was broken when Isca was rewarded a short corner and Isca scored from a deflection.
After the restart Team Bath Buccaneers still continued to press for a goal a Team Bath Buccaneers were awarded short corners but were not converting them to goals, then Team Bath Buccaneers were finally awarded a goal when Elianne Vos fired in a cross into the D Helen Earle did a text book deflection into the Isca goal.
Team Bath Buccaneers were awarded a short corner in the last minute of the game, scored when Steph Baker hit a straight strike which went into the bottom right hand corner.
The final whistle went and Team Bath Buccaneers were really pleased that we had won a tough game.
