Cookey to captain England against World Champs

11 December 2012

Team Bath’s Pamela Cookey will captain England when they take on World Champions Australia in the three-math International Netball Series in January.

Cookey, a University of Bath Business Administration graduate, continues her captaincy duties from the Jamaica Series in September. Her deputy is Sara Bayman, a Manchester Thunder player and University of Bath Sport and Exercise Science graduate.

Three other Team Bath Superleague players join Cookey in the 15-strong England squad.  They are Kadeen Corbin, Stacey Francis and Serena Guthrie.

The series against Australia gets underway at the University of Bath Sports Training Village on Sunday 20 January. Tickets for that game have already sold out, but the Team Bath players will be back in action at the same venue in the opening fixture of the 2013 Superleague.

Team Bath tackle Celtic Dragons in that game in a match being televised live on Sky Sports on Thursday 7 February.
