Bath students are third under-23 pair at rowing trials

The University of Bath pairing of Frazier Christie and Jack Cadman produced a strong performance to finish as the third fastest under-23 pair at the GB Rowing Team Second Winter Assessment trials in Lincolnshire.

The other University of Bath pairing of Ben Jackson, a Sport and Exercise Science student, and Mechanical Engineering student Alex Wilding (below), were the eighth fastest under-23 crew.

All four are coached by Dan Harris on the GB Rowing Team’s Start programme at the University of Bath.

The group are now getting set for BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Head this Sunday and a GB U23 training camp the following weekend at Caversham.

Meanwhile, London 2Alex Wilding012 Olympians Vicky Thornley and Helen Glover, who both learned to row on the GB Rowing Team’s Start programme at the University of Bath, came second and third respectively in the women’s single scull at the trials.

Adam Freeman-Pask, a University of Bath Natural Science graduate, came second in the men’s lightweight single scull.
