Child and Pozzi heading for European Indoor Champs
University of Bath based athletes Eilidh Child and Andrew Pozzi have both been named in the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team for next month’s European Indoor Championships.
Child will run the 400m and is a member of the 4x400m relay quartet, while Pozzi contests the 60m hurdles.
The pair are both coached by Malcolm Arnold, British Athletics’ Lead Hurdles Coach.
Child won her first UK indoor crown at the trials in Sheffield earlier this months clocking a 400m time of 52.13 seconds. She followed that up by breaking her own Scottish record with 51.50 at the weekend’s Birmingham Grand Prix.
Pozzi ran 7.62 seconds in the qualifying round at the European trials but didn’t contest the final as a precaution.
GB will take a 29-strong athletics team to Gothenburg in Sweden for the European Indoor Championships, which run from 1 to 3 March.
