Team Bath win Midlands League Title for first time in its’ six year history!

Team Bath played their last regular league season match against Gloucester knowing a victory would see them lift the title.

In front of a bumper crowd Bath knew a good start would put them in the driving seat and eliminate any nerves.

Bath made the perfect start as within three minutes they were 2-0 up with goals from Parkes and Ballinger. Jones made a first class save to keep the scoreline at 2-0 and then Bath really stepped up their game and put on a show for the home support.

By half time it was 7-0 as Yilmaz, Ballinger (2) & Parkes (2) all got the scoresheet finishing off some fine passing moves.

In the second half Gloucester did manage to score one goal but Bath kept on attacking with variety and fluidity intent on sealing the league title in style.

Player/Coach Kitson got in on the act with two well worked goals before Parkes and Ballinger stole the show as the former finished the game with five goals and the latter with eight, the pick of the bunch an acrobatic overhead kick right on the buzzer.

Bath completed the job and have now finished top of the Midlands Conference for the first time in their short history.

They now move into the FA Super League full of confidence where they will play the best teams from the Southern and Northern Conferences during April and May.

The top teams from this stage then play off to see who will be crowned National Champions and earn the right to represent England in the 2013/14 UEFA Futsal Cup.

Team Bath Futsal Club Superleague fixtures will be out in the next few weeks so watch this space for more details!
