Children from as young as four months can learn to swim in a new adult-child swim class, launching on Wednesday 8th May, in the University of Bath’s hydrotherapy pool.
Led by qualified teacher Madeline Mosey the sessions will run initially on Mondays and Wednesdays mornings in the Sports Training Village.
Mosey brings a wealth of experience and is an ASA Level 2 teacher with additional qualifications in Teaching Adult and Child activities. Her classes will be available for children from four months to three years old.
The activities will follow the Amateur Swimming Association Ducklings model with a range of fun and interactive games to increase water confidence, develop water skills and build the starting blocks of stroke development.
This will be a year-round activity and can be paid through direct debits monthly.
“We are pleased to be able to offer this new range of classes”, said sports development assistant Leanne Matthews. “Gaining confidence in the water at an early age is really important for children who then go onto learn to swim sooner”.
