Kate Eddy – Interim Head of Sports Science and Medicine

Kate EddyKate has been the Team Bath Strength and Conditioning coach since 2004 – present. Also Bath Rugby academy and Bath Rugby ladies coach from 2003/4 to present. She was the Sports Department’s Gym Manager from 2002-2004.

Kate has a BSc (Hons) Sports and Exercise Science, UK Strength and Conditioning Association Accreditation and is a level 3 rugby coach.

Kate manages a team of S & C coaches working across a range of sports with senior and junior athletes throughout the whole performance pathway.  She facilitates interdisciplinary practice across the science and medicine team and believe in developing excellent coaching skills in all practitioners in conjunction with providing up to date evidence based practice.

Kate has worked with Team Bath Judo for eight years, including preparing athletes for World Championships, European Championships and Olympic Games.

She has spent six years working with British Beach Volleyball.  Accredited Team GB coach at London 2012 Olympic Games (Beach Volleyball).

Paralympics GB – Kate had a Strength & Conditioning role at preparation camps in the 2012 Paralympic training cycle.

She was involved with British Bobsleigh including preparations with individual athletes for Vancouver Winter Olympic Games  and World Championships.  Plus work with squad in recent Olympic cycle.

Other projects include Premier League football training camps and advisory role for athletic development in football academies.

Kate also facilitates roles with many more Team Bath sports and partner organisations.

UKSCA accreditation. BSc(hons) Sport & Exercise Science. Currently studying for Professional Doctorate in Health.
