Greg joined Team Bath in 2002 as a sports development co-ordinator and has worked his way up to be a member of the senior management team.
In September 2013 he stepped up to become Deputy Director of Sport. This role sees him lead on the Department’s contribution to the student experience, widening participation and developing sporting pathways. He will line manage five of the department’s head coaches, focus on staff development and on building on the strong relationship with the Students’ Union.
A University of Bath Sport and Exercise Science graduate, he also has a diploma in Sports Psychology from Newcastle College.
Greg was responsible for the creation of our popular Team Bath Tribe programme and works closely with our partner organisations to develop a wealth of youth pathways through curriculum-based and other projects using both on-site and outreach delivery.
A former footballer, he was a member of the Team Bath team that reached the first round proper of the FA Cup in 2002 – becoming the first University side to reach that round for more than 120 years.
He coached the University of Bath women’s football team that won the BUCS title for the first time in 2005.
He also put together the successful bids to Sport England for funding for the Team Bath Talent Development Centre and the Active Universities programme. He worked closely with Brian Roper helping to secure eight years of funding for Team Bath Tribe projects by Roper Rhodes.
An Olympic torchbearer in the lead-up to London 2012, he acts as an advisor on education projects to the British Olympic Foundation.
