Sophie produced a terrific swim to take 200m individual medley silver at the 2012 Olympic Trials and secure a place to compete at her first Olympic Games. She went on to finish 21st overall at London 2012.

Earlier that year she had landed 200m individual medley silver at the European Championships.

Sophie transferred to train at British Swimming’s National Centre for Swimming here in Bath towards the end of 2012. She produced some terrific performances on the 2013 short course World Cup, winning a total of 11 medals from five back-to-back World Cups.
