Biography:
Sporting excellence runs in Gemma’s family. She is the daughter of the Grand-Slam-winning former Scotland rugby captain David Sole, who was part of the victorious British Lions squad of 1989. Gemma followed in her father’s footsteps, becoming a full Scottish international, although this time on the Netball court, not the rugby pitch.
A talented athlete, she was tempted to become a rower while here at the University of Bath. The GB Rowing Performance scouts invited her to the test day, however it clashed with the Netball trials and, having been a keen netball player throughout her childhood, she stuck with her first love.
Gemma graduated from the University of Bath with a degree in Modern Languages and European Studies in 2013.

Selected to represent Scotland at 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, June 2014
