Team Bath Buccaneers 1st Team Festival 2013

02 September 2013

The fifth Team Bath Buccaneers annual 1st Team Hockey Festival takes place at the University of Bath Sports Training Village on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September 2013.

This year has seen an increased entry which should lead to an exciting weekend of hockey as teams build up to the new league season.

Most of the Men’s teams will compete in the Now Pensions England hockey league with Premier Division Canterbury the outstanding entry.

Canterbury proved to be the fourth  strongest side in the League last season and only just failed European competition via the end of season play offs.  They will again be lead by their highly talented player coach Kwane Browne.

Olton & West Warwick and Southgate make their debuts this year. The home side will have a very new young look including a host of new signings and players who have progressed via the Junior Academy.

In the Ladies event only the host side will not play in the Investec England Hockey League this season and they will be hoping that the strong opposition the Festival provides will set them on the way for a promotion season from the West League.  Hampstead & Westminster and Barnes make their first visit to the Festival.

Matches on Saturday are from 11:00 till 17:00 and on Sunday 11:00 till 14:00.

The new Sitec stand seating over 300 will be use for the first time.

Spectators welcome. Entry free.
