Biography >
University of Bath Graduate (Foundation Degree in Sports Performance) Yasmin, is now working as a Sports Graduate at Downside School, just outside of Bath. Making her debut in 2011, this will be her fifth season with the franchise. “Yas” also continues to climb the ladder on the international stage, recently playing against New Zealand, Jamaica, Wales and Malawi for England A. Her proudest moment in the game took place in 2012, winning the World Universities Championships in a nail biter of a final where Great Britain went on to beat South Africa by four in the final moments.
Earlier in her career she represented England at under-17, under-19 and under-21. She captained the England under-17s to victory at the 2010 Europpean Championships in Ireland, when she was also named player of the tournament.
In May 2012 she made her senior England debut, helping England to a 66-42 win over Scotland as the team won the Netball Europe Open trophy.
She was one of three University of Bath players to feature in the GB team that won the inaugural World University Championships in South Africa in 2012.
Yasmin was part of the Team Bath team who battled to a fifth Netball Superleague win – their first since 2010 – in Worcester on 25 May 2013 with a 62-56 win over Celtic Dragons.
Team Bath have won five out of the nine Superleague titles contested. A feat that earned them a place in the 2013 Guinness World Records book.
Yasmin was supported during her studies by the Trendell Sports Scholarship, donated by a graduate of the University and his family, which supports student athletes to fulfil both their sporting and academic potential.
