Buccs Ladies 1sts travelled to Yeovil ready for a challenging match, but aiming to remain undefeated.

Buccs started brightly with some great attacking runs from Jo Adams and pressure from the other attackers. They were soon rewarded for their persistance when Pip Barnes’ reverse stick shot was deflected by a Yeovil defender into the top of the net.

Shortly after, Rosie Bennett netted a perfectly executed straight strike short corner, giving Buccs a 2-0 lead. Buccs continued to pressurise the opposition but Yeovil were still well in the game, requiring some great defending from Janet Gubbin and diving tackles from Nicky Wilson.

Buccs started to dominate towards the end of the second half, with Bennett scoring her second short corner giving Buccs a 3-0 lead at half time.

The girls went straight back out after half time, creating many scoring opportunities and winning corners. Eventually a fourth goal was scored, a short range effort from Lizzie Cox deflecting off a Yeovil defender. The win was sealed with a well placed finished from Hattie Lloyd allowing Buccs to take home a well deserved 5-0 victory and keeping a clean sheet thanks to many first class saves from player of the match Kelly.
