University of Bath-based swimmers Michael Jamieson and Sophie Allen continued their impressive FINA World Cup performances in Dubai and Doha.

The pair, who train at British Swimming’s Bath Intensive Training Centre (ITC), landed a brace of silver medals apiece at the Moscow World Cup.

Michael, Britain’s London 2012 Olympic 200m breaststroke silver medalist, followed that up with gold in the 200m breaststroke in Dubai and silver in the 100m breaststroke.

The University of Bath Sports Performance graduate added another 200m breaststroke gold medal to his already impressive haul in Doha on Sunday (20 October), finishing two seconds clear of the field in 2:05.93.

There were more medals too for Sophie Allen (pictured right), who has been in terrific form. She collected silver in the 200m breaststroke in Dubai, slicing almost two seconds off her personal best with a time of 2:24.85.

She added another silver to her tally in the 200m individual medley final in Doha, taking more than a second off her own English record with a new benchmark of 2:06.36. And yesterday (Monday) she added 200m butterfly silver with a pb of 2:07.20.

The FINA World Cup, a short course swimming competition, now moves on to Singapore (5-6 November), then Tokyo (9-10 November) and rounds off in Beijing (13-14 November).
