Team Bath Buccaneers came away from this match disappointed after a battle that ended in defeat.
The match began with a determined team getting a shot away in the first moment after a shaky Cheltenham defence gave away the ball in the 25.
After 15 minutes of good intensity and plenty of chances, a break-away ball and a lapse of concentration led to a soft goal from Cheltenham’s forward line.
However, the Buccs girls reacted quickly and Vicky Sage (man of the match) capitalised on an indecisive Cheltenham defence, scoring within seconds of the goal. The first-half ended on level terms.
The second half of the match began and Buccs let in two goals, one from a short corner deflection and then another, putting them 3-1 down. Buccs didn’t lose fire and in the last 15 minutes they won four short corners which they failed to convert and several other chances.
The game finished 3-1. A disappointing game but one that the team can learn from.
