Impressive medal haul by Team Bath judo players

Team Bath judo players won three gold medals and an array of silvers and bronzes at the British Championships at the weekend.

Gemma Howell, Jan Gosiewski and Ben Fletcher each collected golds at the senior championships in Sheffield.

London 2012 Olympian Howell, who is studying for a Sport and Exercise Science degree at the University of Bath and receives a Trendell Scholarship, won the women’s under-63kg class title.

Gosiewski, who is studying for a PhD in Biomechanics at the University, took the men’s under-73kg class. Like Howell, Gosiewski is a Trendell scholar.

Ben Fletcher took gold in the under-100kg glass, where Adam Hall came away with silver – one of four collected by Team Bath players.

Ben’s sister, Megan, took silver in the women’s under-70kg class, where there was a bronze for Natasha Maslen.

There was also silver for Gregg Varey in the under-66kg class and for Gary Hall in the under-90kg class, where Sam Potts took bronze. Adam Conroy added a bronze in the under-60kg class to take Team Bath’s medal tally in the senior championships to an impressive three golds, four silvers and three bronzes.

Charlotte Emery took bronze in the junior under-52kg class.
