The popular annual Team Bath 7-a-Side Challenge took place at the University of Bath Sports Training Village on Saturday in excellent conditions despite the poor weather forecast.

In the Ladies event Jaspers and Team Bath Buccaneers came through in Group A and Lydney and Salisbury in Group B.

Lydney dominated their semi final over Buccaneers to win 2-0 but Salisbury had to survive a penalty shoot out to make it through to the Final after a 1-1 draw with Jaspers.

The Final was a very tight affair but Lydney deservedly took the title with a 1-0 win

Organiser & University of Bath Hockey Development Manager, Nick Kendall said, ” It was great to see so many teams enjoying the day in the sunshine which was a real bonus given the wet forecast.

“Two teams have one the event for the first time and both were well deserved.”
