University of Bath graduate Aaron Harris is looking forward to making his Commonwealth Games debut in Glasgow this summer.

The Sports Performance graduate was today (Thursday) named in England’s six-strong triathlon team to compete at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

He features in a high-powered men’s team alongside Olympic champion Alistair Brownlee and his brother Jonathan Brownlee, bronze medallist at the London 2012 Olympics and the 2012 world champion.

“This is the first time I’ve been selected to be part of Team England at a Commonwealth Games,” he said. “It means a lot to me because England will be a very competitive in triathlon, so I hope I can race well for the country in Glasgow 2014.”

He becomes the 46th athlete with University of Bath links selected to compete at Glasgow 2014, and the first triathlete.

His selection takes the number of sports in which athletes with University of Bath links will compete to nine – athletics, badminton, hockey, judo, netball, shooting swimming, triathlon and weightlifting.
