Date of Birth: 13 June 1994
After a breakthrough 2017 that saw him win the British Championships for the first time and make his GB debut at a major international competition, the London 2017 IAAF World Championships, David has been selected to represent Team England at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
The Plymouth-born hurdler began training at the University of Bath while studying Sports Performance, where he was supported by the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS). Coached by James Hillier, he won three British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) gold medals in the Blue and Gold of Bath – one 60m hurdles indoor title and two 110m hurdles outdoor crowns.
Since graduating in 2015, David has continued to train at the University of Bath and is now well established as one of the country’s leading sprint hurdlers. He won bronze at the British Championships in 2016, narrowly missing out on the Olympic qualifying time, and upgraded to gold the following year.
David is an ambassador for MJ Church, Team Bath’s partners.
