Wilson impressed with Bath training facilities

The players from Barnsley Football Club stopped off at the University of Bath for a training session ahead of tomorrow’s (Saturday) Sky Bet League 1 game at Yeovil Town.

Barnsley is managed by former Bristol City and Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson, who praised the facilities at the Sports Training Village.

“We came here because of the facilities and reputation that the University Bath has,” he said. “I’d been here with Bristol City and Swindon Town in the past but it’s changed a lot since then.

“The facilities are absolutely fantastic,” he added. “They haven’t just lived up to expectations, they’ve gone beyond them. People can be very proud of what they’ve got here.”

Barnsley have made a promising start to their campaign and go to Yeovil in fifth place in the League 1.

“We’ve started ok,” said Wilson. “We’ve recruited quite a young nucleus of a team and we hope they will play well together and have the longevity we’re looking for too.”
