Team Bath MCTA Tennis Academy players Scott Clayton and Richard Gabb are celebrating winning back-to-back doubles tournaments in Turkey.
The unseeded pair beat number four seeds Ramkumar Ramanathan of India and Venezuela’s Ricardo Rodriguez in Saturday’s final at the Turkey F33 Futures Tennis Organisation Cup in Antalya 7-5 7-6 (7).
Fellow Team Bath player Jessica Simpson finished runner-up in the women’s doubles partnering Harriet Dart, going down 6-1 3-6 [10-8] to China’s Yan Wang and Xiaodi You in the final.
Those results came a week after the Clayton and Gabb won the F32 Futures Tennis Organisation Cup at the same venue.
The Bath pair, who were seeded two, battled back from losing the opening set to beat Japan’s Hiroyasu Ehara and Katsuki Nagao in the final 3-6 7-6 (4) [1—7].
The Team Bath MCTA Tennis Academy is based at the University of Bath Sports Training Village.
