Team Bath Buccaneers men’s firsts faced top of the league Cardiff & Met on the Sitec Pitch on Sunday.

It was the away side that started strongly, winning a couple of short corners in the early stages but Bath goalie Tom Skinner denied a string of corner routines from Cardiff with some important saves. Buccs grew stronger as the game progressed and created chances but both sides failed to break the deadlock as the sides finished 0-0 at half time.

Buccs took the lead after the break through captain Tim Davenport who put the home side in front with a hard, low flick from the top of the D, his 10th goal of the season. New signing Shaun Baker put Buccs two ahead when his reverse shot rocketed into the top corner of the net.

A solid performance saw the Buccs go three points clear at the top of the table and face Birmingham away next Sunday.
