Siobhan features on British Swimming’s Athlete of the Year shortlist

Talented teenager Siobhan Marie O’Connor has been named on the shortlist for British Swimming’s Athlete of the Year Award.

O’Connor, who trains at the University of Bath at British Swimming’s National Training Centre Bath, features on a shortlist of five for the award.

The 18-year-old has had a tremendous 2014, culminating in winning six medals, including a gold, swimming for England at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The London 2012 Olympian also won two gold medals at this year’s British Championships, as well as collecting a pair of medals apiece at the Tokyo and Singapore World Cup Series competitions.

She features alongside Adam Peaty, Fran Halsall, Jazz Carlin and Ross Murdoch on the shortlist for the award. The winner will be decided by a public vote and announced on 16 December. You can vote for Siobhan now on the British Swimming website.
