Judo player Ben Fletcher and British skeleton athlete Laura Deas are are our latest winners for January’s Team Bath athlete of the month awards.
The awards, which are supported by REVO Eyewear and Ellis & Killpartrick, once again showcased the outstanding caliber of sporting talent at the University of Bath.
Ben collected the men’s award after winning his first World Cup gold medal in Tunisia on return from injury, beating Russia’s Khaybula Magomedov in the -100kg final. Ben also won the British Championships back in December.
Laura has had a big breakthrough this winter, making her debut in the FIBT World Cup and winning her first World Cup medal in Altenberg, Germany. On the back of her silver medal she was also voted Sky Sports women of the month for December.
Tyron Dawkins, REVO UK Brand Manager and Menrad Group ambassador presented awards to the latest winners. He said: “Some quality results and recognition for two outstanding athletes.
