Budding Andy Murrays and Heather Watsons are being invited to have an ace time at the Team Bath Tennis fun day this month.
The free annual event provides Reception and Year 1 pupils with the chance to play tennis in a fun and friendly environment at the University of Bath’s International High Performance Centre.
It is taking place on Saturday, March 21 and will be split into two sessions, from 1-2pm and 2-3pm.
The courts will be divided into four stations – agility, balance and coordination drills; reception skills and spatial awareness exercises; racket skills; and overarm throwing.
Sessions will be run by Matt Smith, Team Bath’s Head of Club Coaching, and LTA Talent Performance Coordinator Dan Fella, while Team Bath Director of Tennis Barry Scollo will also be on court throughout.
The event is part of a drive to get more youngsters in the Bath & North East Somerset and Wiltshire catchment areas to take up the sport, with Team Bath Tennis coaches having visited more than 1,000 pupils at 18 primary schools in the past 12 months.
