Podium place for University of Bath-based Aaron Moores at British Para-Swimming International Meet in Glasgow

University of Bath-based swimmer Aaron Moores picked up a medal on the opening day of the 2015 British Para-Swimming International Meet in Glasgow.

The Aquae Sulis Performance Swimming Club member won bronze in the men’s 100m breaststroke, the SB14 swimmer touching the wall in 1:09.57 for 881 classification points.

Gold went to Warrender Baths’ Scott Quin (1:07.53, 963pts) and Sweden’s Karl Forsman (SB5) won silver (1:34.41, 910pts).

Moores and Aquae Sulis team-mate Stephanie Millward – both of whom won medals at the London 2012 Paralympic Games – are bidding to secure their place at this summer’s  IPC Swimming World Championships, also taking place at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow.

The British Para-Swimming International Meet continues until Sunday.

The London 2012 Legacy Pool at the University of Bath Sports Training Village, which is the training base for Aquae Sulis Performance Swimming Club, is scheduled to reopen after a major renovation on Wednesday 22nd April.
