Team spotlight
First semester has come to a close and needless to say it’s been a fantastic few months for sport at the University of Bath!
Our BUCS campaign thus far has been largely successful, with the University lying in 6th place in the BUCS standings heading into semester two.
University of Bath Badminton Club have been particularly impressive, leading the way in points currently contributed to the University’s total BUCS score. Both the men’s first and second teams, and the women’s first and second teams lie top of their respective leagues – all with 100% winning records.
Some of the winners of Team of the Week for semester one include:
Our Men’s Water Polo First Team who demolished the University of South Wales’ First Team, who dropped into the division this season from a higher standard, 26-8 on November 4.
The University’s Women’s Football Second Team following their 7-0 victory over the University of South Wales on November 25 to progress to the final eight of the Western Conference Cup.
An 11-0 victory for our Women’s Hockey Third Team over Swansea University Thirds in the Western Conference Cup in which they now face Bristol University Seconds in semester two’s quarter-finals.
Our Men’s Lacrosse First Team who cruised to a comfortable 14-4 victory over Oxford University First Team on December 2.
And finally, special recognition for the University’s Men’s Ultimate Frisbee First Team who, despite competing in their first-ever BUCS season, find themselves top of their division with three victories from three matches, including an impressive 14-3 win away to Bristol University Firsts.
