Vote Laura Deas and Gemma Gibbons for Sky Sportswoman of the Month

University of Bath-based skeleton gold-medallist Laura Deas and graduate Gemma Gibbons are both on the shortlist for Sky Sports News Sportswoman of the Month for December 2015.

Deas, who trains with the British Bobsleigh & Skeleton Association at the Sports Training Village, ended the year ranked third in the women’s BMW ISBF World Cup standings.

She recorded top-ten finishes in both Winterberg and Konigssee during December, having won her maiden World Cup title in Altenberg in late November.

Judoka Gibbons, meanwhile, became the first British woman ever to medal at the year-ending Tokyo Grand Slam as she won a superb bronze in December.

The London 2012 Olympic silver-medallist, who celebrates her 29th birthday today, studied Sports Performance at the University of Bath.

Also shortlisted are speed skater Elise Christie, golfer Shanshan Feng, Olympic taekwondo champion Jade Jones and jockey Lizzie Kelly.
