Title: Team Bath Netball Superleague Head Coach

Teams Coached:

  • England (2011-2015)
  • England U21
  • Team Bath (2008-2010 & 2016 – present)

Anna – who has overall responsibility for the Superleague squad – is in her second coaching spell with Team Bath Netball.

After a playing career which saw her represent Wales at the 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Games, as well as the 2007 Netball World Championships, Anna turned to coaching in 2008 and quickly forged a successful partnership with Jess Thirlby.

They coached Team Bath together from 2008 to 2010, winning two Superleague titles, and helped to develop a number of international stars through their roles with the England U21 squad. Anna was also assistant coach to Sue Hawkins when the England senior team won bronze at the 2011 Netball World Championships in Singapore.

She was then appointed as Head Coach of England Netball, a role she served in from 2011-2015. During that time, England recorded a historic 3-0 series whitewash of World Champions Australia and won in New Zealand for only the second time ever.

Anna returned to Team Bath in 2016, again working alongside Jess for four years and leading the Blue & Gold to the Superleague semi-finals each time. After Jess left in May 2020, Anna was given the title of Superleague Head Coach.

Anna, who was mentored by Team Bath coaching legend Lyn Gunson, has a degree in Sport & Exercise Science, a Masters in Sport Psychology and a Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy. She is a Senior Lecturer in Sports Coaching & Sport Psychology at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
