Sport: Water polo

Sporting history:

Ryan started playing water polo at the age of nine. He first tried the sport because his triathlon club used to play a bit of water polo at the end of a swimming gala they used to enter. He loved it, joined a local club and it escalated from there.

Ryan started his Sport and Social Sciences course at the University of Bath in September 2014 and has been on placement in the SU Sport office since June 2016.

Greatest achievement/highlight:

  • Captain of the Wales junior team
  • Representing GB junior team
  • Playing in the European Nations with the Welsh Senior Men’s team

Why Ryan is part of the Athlete Forum:

Ryan is part of the Forum because he likes to know what goes on behind the scenes at Team Bath, and enjoys speaking on behalf of water polo players and elite athletes at the University.

He believes the best thing about the Forum is that the discussions are not just conversations in a room; the implemented change is noticeable.
