Polly from Devizes, a below-the-elbow amputee, only made her international debut in 2014 after being spotted at a talent identification event but was a World Championships medallist within three years after winning T47 long jump silver at London 2017.

Coached by Colin Baross at the University of Bath, she won three gold medals at the IWAS Junior Championships in 2014 and went on to compete at the IPC World Championships the following year, finishing fifth in the long jump.

Aged just 16, Polly jumped to an impressive 7th place in the T47 long jump at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games. She went on to finish 5th in the T47 100m event, rounding off a superb Games for the University of Bath-based athlete.

Notable achievements

2017: Silver in the T47 long jump at the IPC World Championships in London.

2016: Fifth in the T47 100m at the Rio Paralympic Games.

2016: Seventh in the T47 long jump at the Rio Paralympic Games.

2015: Fifth in T46 long jump at the IPC World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
