Two new faces get their debut Olympics underway on day eight of the Rio 2016 Games.
European gold medallist Emily Diamond competes in heat five of the 400m competition looking to build on the impressive 51.94s time she set while winning the British Championships.
At the Riocentro, weightlifter Sonny Webster will compete in the 94kg category taking on the likes of London 2012 gold medallist Adrian Zieliński.
In the pool, Siobhan-Marie O’Connor looks to replicate teammate Jazz Carlin who secured her second medal of the Games last night.
O’Connor and Chris Walker-Hebborn compete in the 4×100 medley competitions due to start just before and just after 3am respectively – the GB men’s quartet were the fastest qualifiers.
