Live blog – Rio Olympic Games day 14

Kate French and Samantha Murray will be looking to continue Team GB’s proud tradition of winning a medal in every women’s modern pentathlon competition since Sydney 2000 when they complete their Rio 2016 competition on Friday.
The University of Bath graduates have work to do after the fencing on Thursday but are both strong performers on the international stage, with Murray having won a silver medal at London 2012.

Athletes Eilidh Doyle and Emily Diamond could also return to the athletics track in the early hours of Saturday morning – both are part of the women’s 4x400m relay squad, with GB looking to qualify for Sunday’s final.
