England Touch call up student rugby trio for 2017 training squads
Three University of Bath student rugby players have been named by England Touch in the open training squads for 2017.
Dom Tripp and Will Serocold (pictured), who study Sport & Exercise Science and Sports Performance respectively, have retained their places in the men’s squad after helping England win gold at the 2016 European Touch Rugby Championships.
Psychology student Bronte Sykes has been named in the England women’s squad, with the focus in 2017 being on preparing for the newly-formed European Federation of Touch Premiership Permit tournament.
Serocold, Tripp and Sykes are all part of the University of Bath Hawks team that has enjoyed a tremendous season so far, winning all four tournaments they have contested.
That run of success included clinching the Bath Touch League title, just a couple of weeks after Hawks had recorded their first-ever overseas triumph with victory at the Mallorca Touch International Mixed Tournament.
