Building for a healthier future as property consultancy Carter Jonas sponsor Team Bath Tribe

02 October 2017

National property consultancy Carter Jonas has joined the University of Bath’s mission for a healthier generation after coming on board as sponsors of the Team Bath Tribe youth sports programme.

The support of Carter Jonas, whose Bath city-centre offices are based on Wood Street and Lower Bristol Road, will help more than 5,000 children from the ages of two through to 16 get active in a host of sports every week.

Tribe, which has been running for more than ten years, also delivers coaching sessions in more than 40 schools in Bath & North East Somerset [BANES] and the surrounding areas.

David Mackenzie, Residential Sales Partner at Carter Jonas, said: “We are very proud of all of Team Bath’s achievements and keen to support the next generation of sporting talent by sponsoring Tribe.

“At any level, regular participation in group sport can be a real advantage for young people, helping to build confidence as well as providing a sense of teamwork and fun. The Tribe team do a fantastic job and we are so pleased that we can play a small role in supporting their work and such a positive scheme.”

Tribe has more than 250,000 interactions with children in sport every year, with youngsters taking part in a range of activities including athletics, badminton, football, netball, swimming and trampolining. Sessions take place mainly at the University of Bath’s world-class facilities after school and on Saturdays during term-time, while sporting camps during school holidays also prove very popular.

Jess Clements, Sports Development Assistant Manager at the University of Bath, said: “We believe that children flourish best in an atmosphere of encouragement and fun. Tribe is all about developing each child’s sporting skills and being able to offer them routes into more competitive sports if they so wish.

“Team Bath is dedicated to providing opportunities for every person to access sporting facilities and to build a healthier future. Thank you to Carter Jonas for supporting that goal – we look forward to working closely with them with their funds supporting additional coach development and other initiatives to enhance our programme.”

All children who take part in the Carter Jonas supported Tribe activities will receive a Team Bath t-shirt in the famous Blue and Gold worn by top and emerging athletes across many sports.

Bookings are now being taken for the October half-term holiday camps, running from Monday 23 to Friday 27 inclusive, in athletics, badminton, football, hockey, trampolining and multi-sport.
