Customer notice: New Swim Wall being installed in London 2012 Legacy Pool from April 15-19 inclusive
A new turning board system is being fitted in the London 2012 Legacy Swimming Pool at the University of Bath during April, adding to the world-class training facilities already available to swimmers at the Sports Training Village.
The Swim Wall is designed to sit on the base of the pool and will be raised during certain training sessions to provide a ‘turning wall’ at the 25m mark – ideal for those in sprint training.
It can be raised across the entire length of the pool or just half of it, providing us with the ability to have both 25m and 50m lanes available at any one time.
There are currently no plans to lift the wall during the Swim Fit lane allocation, which will remain a 50m lane option.
Identifying a window to install the new Swim Wall has proven challenging but we can now confirm that these works will take place from Monday, April 15 to Friday, April 19 2019 inclusive with the pool being closed completely during this period.
Pool bookings will temporarily resume as normal from Saturday, April 20 to Sunday, April 28 2019, allowing for Easter weekend disruption.
In order to ensure that we are making best use of the facility once the new turning boards have been installed, we have also reviewed current programming and there will be a small number of adjustments to the Swim Fit programme with sessions going ahead as outlined below from Monday, April 29 onwards:
50m Swimming Pool – amended Swim Fit Programme
Tuesdays: 6am-2.30pm & 6-8pm.
Wednesdays: 6-9am, 10am-1.30pm & 5-10pm.
Thursdays: 6am-2.30pm & 6-9pm.
Saturdays: 10am-12noon & 12.15-4.30pm.
Unfortunately we are no longer able to offer the Members Only swim session on Monday evenings but we will continue to review the programme in the coming weeks to see if an alternative slot for this session can be allocated and will keep you fully informed as to our plans.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank customers for their understanding.
