21 September 2019

University of Bath student Tom Dean and World Champion James Guy have been named in a 16-strong British team to contest the LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships in Glasgow this December.

Mechanical Engineering student Dean, who is supported by a Bill Whiteley Scholarship, and Guy are both coached by Dave McNulty and Jol Finck at the British Swimming National Centre Bath in the University’s London 2012 Legacy Pool.

They are joined in the squad by Sport & Exercise Science graduate Anna Hopkin, who impressed on the international stage this summer when she set two massive personal bests and a national record at the World Championships in South Korea.

The European Short Course Championships will take place in the Tollcross International Swimming Centre from December 4-8.

Members of the public can swim in the same facility as World Championship swimmers, with the University’s Olympic-sized pool open to the public seven days a week. Click here to find out more.
