Free BUCS Super Rugby back at Sports Training Village tonight as Team Bath men’s 1st XV take on Cardiff Met

20 November 2019

Team Bath men’s 1st XV will finally run out in front of their home fans at the University of Bath Sports Training Village this season as they host Cardiff Met in round eight of BUCS Super Rugby tonight (6.30pm).

The match is the first of four on successive Wednesdays on the University’s athletics infield pitch and spectators are welcome at all of them – admission is FREE and there is a great view of the action from the balcony outside the Sports Café, where warming refreshments are available.

Team Bath – sponsored by Fulkers Bailey Russell – go into the match on the back of an impressive 38-21 victory at Cardiff University last week and will be keen to build on that when they entertain the other Super Rugby team from the Welsh capital.

Cardiff Met have won on their last three visits to the Sports Training Village but Team Bath were victorious when they last met in Cardiff in the closing fee weeks of last season.

Jordan Martin returns to the second row but fellow co-captain Ed Rimmer is sidelined through injury, which means a first start of the season at scrum-half for Jacob Tansey.

Bristol Bears Academy prop Tom Rowland, number 8 Ed Ashcroft and centre Sam Kennaugh also come into the home starting XV.

Don’t forget, admission is free so come and back the boys in Blue & Gold!
