England call on University of Bath student-athlete Grace Crompton and alumna Amy Wilson Hardy for Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022

After representing her country at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, University of Bath student-athlete Grace Crompton is set to compete for England at the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 tournament in South Africa.

Joining the Sports Management and Coaching student in the women’s squad is University alumna Amy Wilson Hardy as England look to end a busy international season on a high note.

Both Crompton and Wilson Hardy helped England qualify for the tournament, which begins on Friday and is taking place at the iconic Cape Town Stadium. It will be broadcast live in the UK on ITV Hub.

England face Spain in their round of 16 match at 2.16pm BST on Friday, with the winners progressing to the Championship knockout phase while the defeated teams move into the Challenge competition.

Crompton is supported by the Team Bath Dual Career programme, which helps student-athletes at the University of Bath balance their academic and sporting careers. Applications are being taken for the 2022-23 programme, click here for further details.
