Barry Edwards – Senior Physiotherapist
- Lead physiotherapist for TASS and Team Bath Judo;
- Has delivered great results with knee and hip replacements as well as sporting injuries such as ACL repair or shoulder surgery;
- Equally at home in the gym setting weight training programmes as he is in the injury clinic doing manual therapy.
Before qualifying as a Physiotherapist and prior to joining Team Bath in 1999, Barry was a karate instructor with his own club as well as a personal trainer and fitness instructor. After qualifying he worked in the NHS and the British Army and was for a while a contractor for the English Institute of Sport [EiS].
Barry has treated a wide variety of injuries during his two decades with Team Bath, from sporting injuries to the neck, shoulder, back, hip, knee and ankle to osteoarthritic problems of hips and knees pre- and post-operation.
Although Barry uses Manual Therapy extensively, he specialises in Pilates-based rehab with and without equipment along with proprioceptive training. He also co-authored a book on Swiss Ball training and did his MSc research on use of the Swiss Ball for deep spinal stabilisation.
