Joel, part of the team that achieved GB’s best World Championship two-man result in 50 years during 2016, competed at both the Sochi 2014 and PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games – winning bronze at the former.

After beginning his bobsleigh career in 2011, Joel won silver medals at both the 2013 World Cup event in Lake Placid and the 2014 European Championships before helping the GBR1 four-man team to fifth place at Sochi 2014 – a result which is set to be upgraded to bronze following the subsequent expulsion of two Russian teams.

Alongside his bobsleigh career, Joel has represented GB at international level in athletics and ran the third-fastest 100m time ever by a British athlete in 2016 of 9.96secs.
