Sophie Hamer – Sports Operations Manager

Sophie has been a member of the Team Bath staff for almost two decades, having first joined in December 2003 as a Sports Assistant. She gained promotion to Sports Supervisor in May 2004 and became a Duty Manager in October 2005. She then took on the role of Assistant Facilities Manager in March 2012 before being appointed as Sports Operations Manager during 2020.

Sophie’s responsibilities involve looking at the long-term maintenance and development of all sports facilities on campus, as well as dealing with staffing issues, training and health and safety in the workplace. In addition she is a qualified National Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessor and NEBOSH qualified.

Before working at Team Bath, Sophie studied for a degree in Sports Education and Leisure Management at the University of Gloucestershire.
