Team Bath Sportive cycling event: Bath-Glastonbury-Bath
April 22 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm£20 - £30
Cyclists of all abilities are being invited to gear up for the first-ever Team Bath Sportive, taking place on Sunday, April 22.
Starting and finishing at the University of Bath Sports Training Village, the Sportive – the cycling equivalent of running a marathon – will see cyclists head to Glastonbury and back via either a 102km organised route. There is also a shorter 50km route through Bath & North East Somerset for people to take on.
It is a non-competitive event, with the focus being on participation in a supportive atmosphere, and is being run in conjunction with British Cycling. Registrations are now open with entry in advance priced £20 for the 50km route and £30 for 102km, both increasing by £5 for entries on the day.
Sportives are a great way for people to get fit and challenge themselves, with the group nature of the event providing a fantastic opportunity for camaraderie and a chance to cycle between two iconic locations through the beautiful Somerset countryside.
Entrants must be aged 18 and over and they will benefit from:
Free parking at the Sports Training Village;
Access to toilets at the Sports Training Village;
On-course medical and mechanical support;
Three feed stations on the longer route, one feed station on the shorter route;
Post-ride food and drinks available to purchase from the Sports Café at the Sports Training Village.
The routes are as follows (click to enlarge, pending risk assessment):
