Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support

The 1st 4 Sport Level 3 Certificate in Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support (TALS) provides an introduction to the principles and practice of supporting and advising talented athletes in managing their personal development and lifestyle.

The qualification provides the theoretical and practical foundation for any individual advising or mentoring talented athletes and is a requirement for mentoring and advising athletes on the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS).

The programme is recognised by the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) and is delivered one day a month at the University of Bath by experienced Lifestyle Support Advisers.

Qualifications

Entry requirements

To enrol on this programme, learners must be over 18 years of age.

Prior to certification learners must have attended a recognised Children Protection workshop and have completed and passed the UK Anti-Doping online workshop.

Learners must ideally have access to an appropriate talented athlete, over a minimum of a three-month period however, individuals without this access are still encouraged to apply.

Mode of delivery

Thursdays, one day per month for four months (9.30am-4.30pm).

Assessment

The course is assessed via the submission of a portfolio containing evidence for each unit of study and through the observation of meetings with a talented athlete.

Facilities & tutors

The course is delivered at the University of Bath Sports Training Village by experienced Lifestyle Support Advisers.
