
The ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring
Programme Overview
The Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring is made up of three units, which enable learners to develop a clear framework of practice, including tools and techniques, and undertake formal management coaching and mentoring activity.

8580 – 500 | Level 5: Understanding the skills, principles and practice of effective management coaching and mentoring. |
8580 – 501 | Level 5: Undertaking management coaching or mentoring in the workplace. |
8580 – 503 | Level 5: Reviewing own ability as a management coach or mentor. |
Programme Outline
Our flexible, blended learning approach allows participants to study at a pace that suits themselves and fits around their commitments. The programme, on average, takes between 3 to 12 months to complete and comprises:
- Five days of experiential learning workshops, incorporating co-supervised coaching,
peer coaching and mentoring and reflective learning. - Recommended reading.
- Tutorial support.
- Portfolio compilation guidance and feedback.

All candidates will receive:
- Ongoing tutorial support.
- Guidance on portfolio compilation, on-line assessment and tutor feedback.
